The Iraqi Pharmaceuticals Factory Company was incorporated as a limited liability company in 1955 and was inaugurated by HM [the late] King Faisal II in May 1957, it is the first factory incorporated in Iraq on modern scientific basis at that time.
The factory has been constructed on a plot of land of an approximate area of 4700 m2 which was designed by UCB, a Belgian company specialized in the pharmaceutical industry with the assistance of Iraqi engineers, graduates of Britain.
The factory has been constructed on two floors with an area exceeding 7000m2 and was formed of various divisions. All construction phases of the factory and divisions were executed under the supervision of the Belgian Company and the Iraqi engineers.
The idea to incorporate the factory was that of Pharmacist Labib Rasheed Yarza and Dr. George Faraj Abdul Rahim. It was incorporated according to the most modern scientific specifications of pharmaceutical industry where its divisions were equipped with the most modern machinery available then. All the factory’s divisions were developed and renovated to conform with state-of-the-art international methods adopted in the pharmaceutical industry.
Modern machinery, production lines and all the necessary instruments to develop and look after the production’s quality and control all phases of production, were added to go along with the international development in the pharmaceutical industry.
The factory employs 120 workers and technicians who have work experience on modern machinery and according to state-of-the-art international methods for the pharmaceutical industry and production control.
Our company is willing to cooperate with any licensed and specialized entity in the pharmaceutical industry wishing to manufacture its products or enter into agreement to manufacture its products of pharmaceuticals.
