2. What Labmaryl is and what is it used for:
Labmaryl is a medication specifically formulated for the treatment of noninsulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, known as Type II Diabetes. Type II diabetes is a common condition that causes the level of sugar (glucose) in the blood to become too high.
3. What you need to know before you take Labmaryl:
- Do not use this medicine if you are sensitive to the active ingredient, any other component of the drug, or other sulfonylurea, or sulfonamides.
- Do not use this medicine if you have diabetes type I or ketoacidosis with or without coma.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
4. Warnings and Precautions:
- If you are sensitive to any type of food or medicine, inform your doctor before commencing treatment with this medicine. Blood and urine glucose should be monitored periodically.
- Do not drink alcohol while taking Labmaryl.
- A correct diet, regular and sufficient physical exercise, and decreased body weight are important to achieve optimal control of blood sugar.
- Note that this medicine contains Sodium (Na).
- Drug interactions: If you are taking any additional drugs or if you have just finished a course with another medicine, inform the attending physician, to prevent hazards or lack of efficacy arising from drug interactions.
5. Dose:
- Recommended Dosage: Dosage is according to the physician’s instructions only. Do not exceed the recommended dosage. This medicine is to be taken at specific time intervals as determined by the physician. If you forget to take this medicine at the specified time, take a dose as soon as you remember, but never take a double dose.
- Directions for Use: Do not chew! Swallow the medicine with a small amount of water, with breakfast, or the first main meal.
- Missed Dose: If you missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember, then continue to take it at the usual times, and never take a double dose to compensate for the missed one. If you have missed several doses, please inform your doctor. Do not exceed the recommended dosage.
- Overdose: This medicine contains substances which can be poisonous or fatal in large doses to children and/or infants and, therefore, must be kept out of their reach. In case of accidental overdose, or if a child takes the medicine by accident, seek professional assistance or rush to a hospital emergency room accompanied by the medicine's package.
6. Possible Side Effects:
In addition to the desired effect of the medicine, adverse reactions may occur while taking this medicine such as hypoglycemia, gastrointestinal reactions, allergic skin reactions, blurred vision, headache, nausea, ravenous hunger, lassitude, sleepiness, dizziness, shallow respiration, or bradycardia. If you experience side effects not mentioned in this leaflet, or if there is a change in your general health, consult your doctor immediately.
